Scholarships

IOSC Scholarship Program is intended to assist government representatives, academics, NGO’s or those involved in spill response whose attendance will enhance preparedness in their region of the world. Scholarships are need-based and awarded to applicants only after review and approval by the IOSC 2021 Scholarship Committee.

Deadlines
Application site closes June 29, 2023
Scholarship Recipient Selection – late August 2023
Official Notification – September 5, 2023

Scholarship recipients include:

  • US and International government representatives (at all levels)
  •  US Government Agency/Industry Interns and Co-op Students
  • Subject Matter Experts from US and International academia, research institutes, etc.
  • Subject Matter Experts or leading authorities, innovators on significant issues related to oil spill preparedness, response or restoration
  • Authors of accepted IOSC papers and posters
  • Graduate students (enrolled in Masters and PhD programs) in environmental sciences or related fields of study
  •  Representatives of non-governmental organizations

Scholarships include support for travel, lodging and/or complimentary registration. Recipients may also attend Short Courses at no cost if space is available.

It is our policy to comply with all U.S. trade control laws, including immigration and economic sanctions, export controls and antiboycott restrictions. Accordingly, entities and individuals subject to U.S. trade control laws may be prohibited from participating in the IOSC scholarship application process and program.
